Space Coast Communities Association is a DBA of Space Coast Condominiums Association, Inc.-- a not-for-profit association incorporated on June 17, 1975, Charter Number 7-33800.
While we began more than 30 years ago as Space Coast Condominiums Association, providing educational services to condominium associations and their boards of administration, we have expanded our horizon over the years to welcome home owners', cooperative, and time share associations too. Therefore we are now known as Space Coast Communities Association. We hope to continue building on our heritage of service to all Central Florida common interest ownership communities.
PURPOSES
To foster and promote the interests of individuals, partnerships, firms, associations and corporations who own community association residential units.
To unite owners, through their associations or through their organizations which are representative of the owners in an association.
To consider and act in unison upon matters affecting the interests of owners with regard to their associations, and to cooperate for the improvement of all conditions relating to such interests.
To represent the interests of our members by presenting a unified input to legislators on issues affecting community association owners in Brevard County.
To secure and interchange accurate and reliable information for the associations and organizations of the unit owners, as well as the unit owners themselves.
MEMBERSHIP
1. Voting Members: Any formal or informal organization representing the owners of units in a residential common interest community association (except when controlled by the developer) may become a voting member. Condominium, home-owners, timeshare, and cooperative community associations are all welcome.
2. Associate Members: The Board of Directors may approve Individuals and organizations as associates (non-voting members) who have interests that are consistent with the purposes of the SCCA. Currently SCCA has business and individual associate members in this category.
SCCA ADMINISTRATION
The property, affairs, activities and concerns of SCCA are vested in a Board of Directors. Directors are elected at the annual meeting and serve for one year without compensation. Officers of SCCA are elected by the directors and also serve for one year. Only unit owners of member organizations can serve as Directors and Officers.
MEETINGS
General Membership Meetings are scheduled usually for the fourth Saturday of each month. Membership meetings usually are held monthly from September through June excluding December. The Board of Directors meets at least every other month.
DUES
Annual Membership Dues, together with an updated application, must be received no later than the anniversary date of the original membership. (See our "Join SCCA" page for membership applications which include dues amounts for each type of member.)
